He said: “Yes, we should expect to see some new players join us for the game against Algeria.
“The three injured players (Balogun, Moses, Success) and the one that had a family issue and had to be excused will all be back. We shall also look at other players who play regularly in their clubs who may join the team.”
However, Rohr said the local based players may not be given invites because they would have lost their rhythm as the local league is on break.
He said: “But for the local players who are on break, I’ll be handicapped, because the league will be on break and it will be difficult for them because they would have lost their rhythm and they do not play and don’t train, so it will be hard for them to make the team. But we shall look at the possibility to make out something for them.”
He continued: “I will only invite players who are fit and play regularly for their clubs, that was one of the reasons I did not play Mohammed Musa at all because he had not played any game since after the match against Tanzania and Ahmed Musa had to wait till later in the game against Zambia to come and he did well.”
Rohr disclosed that all the players he took to Zambia co-operated with him and that their attitude was great, adding that he would not mind having all of them back if they are playing well in their respective clubs.
