Manchester United have reportedly appointed 50 scouts in recent months as they aim to return to the top of the football food chain by signing more of the world’s best footballers.

Goaal.com reports the club have totally revamped their recruitment policy, and have subsequently hired the huge number of talent-spotters based in several key regions across Europe.

It’s understood the dozens of scouts will report to Carrington twice annually in order to update the club on their search and will be briefed as to the players United require.

Jim Lawlor is still the chief scout at Old Trafford and will work alongside Marcel Bout, a scout who joined and was prominent under Louis van Gaal.

Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard are the highest profile graduates of United’s academy in recent years and the club want to have more of the same for future teams.
