Members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria popularly known as Shi’ites are facing problem in Kano as angry youths attacked them with machetes.
The group which has been outlawed in Kaduna was attacked by angry youths with some sustaining machete wounds.
The attack against the group occurred on Wednesday, October 12 when a similar attack was carried out against the group in Kaduna where 13 members were killed and more wounded.

According to Sahara reporters, the Shi’ites were holding a rally in the Kano metropolis when they were attacked by angry youths wielding knives, machetes and swords.
The Shi’ite procession was coming at a time when the state has placed a ban on all forms of religious processions and the youths felt they were trying to enforce the law of the state.
It was reported that members of the religious sect were forced to scamper to safety following the attack on them.
A witness reported that the one of the youths wielding a machete said he “was ready to shed the blood of any Shiite who had dared to breach the peace at a time the menace of Boko Haram insurgency was taking a heavy toll on the nation.”
Many of the Shi’ite members were seen removing their black attires as anyone in black was quickly attacked by the mob.
Magaji Musa Majiya who is the spokesperson of the Kano state police command confirmed the attack on the Shi’ites.
He said efforts was being made to rescue women, aged and children who were the more vulnerable
