Conte’s side will square up against Leicester City at home on Saturday October 15, and will be under scrutiny in the next eight days before facing United at the same venue.

As for Jose Mourinho, he will be making a return to west London since he was sacked in December 2015 after poor strings of results with the Blues in the 2015/16 campaign.

Jose Mourinho has a tight schedule for October

Conte said: “These are two big challenges. Leicester won the title last season and are playing a good Champions League. They are stronger than in the past.

“Manchester United are a great team too. But we have to think about ourselves, not the other team. To improve in the situation we’re in, we are trying to do that in training. That’s the important thing.”

With Chelsea not involved in any of the continental competitions this season, Conte will have a full week to be better prepared for the match against the Red Devils.

“Does that give us an advantage? Yes. We have a week to prepare, to have the training sessions.

“When you have a week you have more time to improve your team on the tactical and physical aspects.

“It’s important for every club to play the Champions League, though, because it’s a fantastic tournament and every team wants to play in that tournament.”

The Italian coach have lost two matches in the Premier League to top sides including Liverpool and Arsenal but will hoping not to fall to another big side re-ignite their title ambitions.
