The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) are planning to seduce Chelsea teenage goal machine Tammy Abraham into switching allegiance to Nigeria.
The England U-21 international who is currently on loan with Osaze Odenwingie at Bristol City has been in fine form for both club and country netting 13 goals in 15 appearances.
The striker has played a handful of games for England youth sides and his most recent match was scoring a brace in the 5 – 1 win against Bosnia & Herzegovina at U-21 level.
NFF chairman Amaju Pinnick who is a close friend to Tammy’s father believes he can lure the 19-year-old into the green and white colours of Nigeria.
Amaju Pinnick said: “Tammy is like a son to me.
“His dad is my childhood friend, we grew up in Warri. We speak quite often.
“When we are ready, I am sure the Nigerian Football Federation will not have any problem in securing his release.”
Super Eagles have been reaping from Premier League talents including Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho, Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi and Leicester City’s forward Ahmed Musa, who all featured in Nigeria’s 2 – 1 over Zambia on Sunday, October 9.
Watford also have established striker Odion Ighalo and emerging talent Isaac Success with Victor Moses also plying his trade for Antonio Conte’s side Chelsea.
Adding Abraham into the fold of the Nigerian squad will help his development and bring more competition in the Super Eagles attack.
