For securing his place in the Guinness World Records as the longest performing stand-up comedian in the world, Tony Mofe Ereku, aka Gandoki was given a lavish reception by some of the hottest premium nightlife entertainment destination in Lagos State last weekend.
The reception began at The Place Restaurant, Bar and Nightclub in Lekki, Lagos by manager of the centre, Frank Okamigbo with other celebrities including BBA winner/TV Personality, Uti Nwachukwu in attendance.
The party then shifted to LightHouse Club in Surulere, Lagos where the comedian was presented with an award of Excellence, before moving to X Factor Lounge within the vicinity.
“I’m overwhelmed by this reception given to me. This shows that people appreciate what I have done and it is worth celebrating. I want to express my appreciation to The Place, LightHouse Club and X Factor Lounge for deeming it fit to celebrate my Guinness Book of Record achievement. This achievement is not for me only, it is for Nigeria as a whole and I will continue to play my part in projecting the image of the country in a positive way,” Gandoki said.
Recall that Gandoki successfully put Nigeria on the world map by becoming the first comedian to perform non-stop stand-up comedy for 42 hours and 10 minutes at the world breaking challenge which started on Thursday, October 29 by 8:00 pm at the Exclusive mansions hotel, Victoria Island.
The show climaxed at about 12:34 pm on Independence day, as he beat the previous record of 40 hours and 8 minutes held by U.S. comedian, David Scott.
